Mono printing with Gelli plates
You don't have to be an artist to play!!
Gelli Printing is a fun and playful form of monoprinting.
Beginners will learn the basics of gelli printing, using one or more layers of paint on paper and fabric (optional) while people with experience can continue to explore what else is possible. Learn to use stencils, stamps, carvings, foliage, masks and more, on your plates to produce unique mono prints. In this workshop you may explore what can be done with your prints amd papers/fabrics once you have created them.
Gelliplate printing is not a precise art form and is perfect for anyone, both artist and amateur, who has a desire to PLAY with colour and print. Lynette will guide you in exploring and discovering endless possibilites of this simple but effective art form. (see article about the July Workshop from the September Fibreline magazine)
You will need to provide your own Gelli plate
(preferrably 5''x7" or larger), acrylic paints
and roller/brayer, papers and, if printing on fabric,
light fabric.

About Lynette:
Lynette is an experienced music teacher, musician, singer-songwriter, painter and fabric artist. Her teaching experience spans over 4 decades.
Lynette’s art career started in her late teens when she took a portrait drawing class at the Elsternwick School of Art. In her 20’s Lynette commenced painting classes with the talented artist, Margot Satterthwaite. After several years of class with Margot, Lynette continued her art training with several different schools including the Victorian artist society and several years at Art Encounters with Dena Lester.
Lynette spent many years creating artworks with oils, acrylics, chalk pastels and collage before moving on to machine patchwork and quilting.
As an artist, Lynette very quickly discovered art quilting and has spent many years combining painting, design, and stitching in various ways. When participating in a workshop with Anna Bellis at the AQC, Lynette fell in love with the simplicity and speed of Gelli plate printing. This soon became an obsession.
With many years of teaching in the creative field, Lynette empowers and encourages her students to develop their unique voice and self expression. Lynette continues to research and explore the infinite possibilities of this medium and looks forward to sharing the joy and exploration of this art form with you.
Lynette is the workshop coordinator for ATASDA Victoria and the community quilts coordinator for the Melbourne Modern Quilt Guild (MMQG).
Lynette is also a member of The Embroidery Guild of Victoria, Victorian Quilters, Patchwork and Quilters Guild of Victoria, The Victorian Calligraphy Society and plays keyboard in Old Skool Retro, a Melbourne cover band.
